3 Reasons for Bloating and Discomfort

Have you ever been bloated or had abdominal discomfort for an extended period of time? I have and it can be absolutely miserable (read more about my journey here: ). So many people deal with bloating that it is seen as common. But it’s absolutely not normal.

There are many reasons for bloating and discomfort but let’s just start with 3 possibilities:

  1. Candida overgrowth. We all have candida in our bodies but it can start to cause issues with overgrowth. This can be caused by excess stress, sugar, salt, fatty or processed foods. Take note of where you are feeling the bloat and if you experience what is known as “melon belly.”

  2. Poor food combining. There are many rules to follow when it comes to proper food combining but one of the easiest to remember is that fruit should be eaten first and eaten alone. In addition, melons shouldn’t be eaten with anything else, even other fruit. Poor food combining can cause fermentation.

  3. Poor digestion. Are you chewing your food? Are you eating when you are stressed? Are you eating in front of the TV or iPhone? Do you have low HCL? Be sure to chew each bite 20-30 times and take some deep breaths before your meals.
